Madison and Vine

Dec 9/2019 I recently learned of Madison and vine which is a tool that was created for advertisers to get around the problem of people skipping their adds during commercial break. Madison and vine is when commercial companies market their product in the add. They give the movie or show money so that the creators can make the show, in return the producers have to make sure that the product is somehow displayed in the dhow or in some cases is apart of the show. Why was this created? This partnership was created because people started to avoid advertising. They were able to bypass it in every way that you watch shows or listen to music. The change in the average consumer's way of acting, was already making it harder for both advertising and entertainment to get investments. So, both sides thought that it would be beneficial to team up. The website working knowledge by the Harvard Business school claims that this change in strategy essentially makes it so that people choose the a

Netflix

Dec 9 2019 I remember when netflix used to send out the movies you wanted in dvd's. You would anxiously await their arrival when the mail person finally puts it in your mailbox. You would rush out to get the dvd and are excited when you saw that little red and square envelope. For as long as I can remember netflix has been apart of my life. My sister and I would sit on the hardwood floor eating our dinner as our parents would put in the Muppets dvd. I would smile at kermit and sing along to the opening song and as confused as I was I would smile when my parents laughed at fozzie's "adult jokes". Needless to say Netflix has been a positive experience and brings with it a lot of nostalgia. I know my history with Netflix but what is Netflix's history?  According to Netflix's website the company started in 1997 and was founded by Reed Hasting and software executive Mark Randolph where they offered online rentals. Netflix continued to improve year after year a

My Relationship with Media

My relationship with media By Emma Archer I use media every day whenever I'm free I use media. I even use it to procrastinate sometimes when there's homework or a project that I don't want to do right away. I also use it when I hang out with my siblings. It's weird when you realize how much media you use when it's so ingrained in your life that it seems natural. I don't use media like Instagram or Snapchat mainlly entertainment ones. I use Netflix, YouTube, Disney plus, a game called Speed Runners etc. I often play video games with my siblings often we'll play Minecraft we'll be all set up and having a good time until someone accidentally kills someone else and it all falls apart. By myself I play games like Speed Runners and plants versus Zombies its nice it is a good way to relax but to still stay alert. Not only that but when you play a video game its like you're in a shoe new world not only that but you're living in this world experien
